Barry Rabe, Assistant Park Superintendent lead the way as work was being done on the northeast end of the first loop of the White River Valley Trail.  The trail is located east of the Table Rock State Park , Branson Missouri.
The work we did on Saturday,June 13th,  went very well. We laid down about 150 -175 feet of new trail.
The Root Extractor.
Removing root or "tripper" from the trail tread is hard work,  but very rewarding when it is accomplished.
The workers today said over and over again, they  could did not believe how much new trail we built in the time we where there. We start building at 10:30 am and stop at 2:45 pm.  I had them breaking 10 minutes on the hour.  They like that.  We also took an on-site 30 minute lunch break.  It give them time to talk together about what  how hard the work was.  But they enjoyed it because the where giving back to the community.  The volunteers said how great  it will be ruining their bikes on this new trail. This one worker was saying he felt he could get some air on this one challenge we let stay in the tread.
By keeping a close watch on the work we where able to make correction in the cutting in new tread and  the removal of trippers without having to come back at a later time. It is better to do the job the right way the first time.
